La Costa Canyon has over 1,200 student athletes (over 60% of total enrollment) participating on over 40 teams in over 20 different sports from tennis to football. High school sports are a large part of the overall high school experience. They help build school spirit, self-esteem, character, commitment, responsibility, sportsmanship, and many other benefits to better prepare the students for their future. They also help create lifelong friends and memories. Unfortunately, the State and District provide very little financial assistance to run these programs effectively.

Through the Maverick Athletics Boosters (MAB), La Costa Canyon has been able to raise money each year from our parents, the community, and local businesses to provide the infrastructure that we need to support those programs.

The La Costa Canyon Athletic Golf Tournament and Auction is our largest fund raising event of the year. This event is an opportunity for the parents, the community, and local businesses to assist in funding our programs through participation in the golf tournament, attending the dinner auction, donating an auction item, being a sponsor at many different levels, or all of the above. This event is attended by over 150 La Costa Canyon families. By sponsoring, you will be recognized for your support (see Sponsorship Opportunities form).

Attached are the following fundraising opportunities:

All donations are tax deductible. Please consider one or all of these opportunities to help La Costa Canyon’s Athletic programs continue to be the best that they can be.

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on April 18, 2016.

Farmers Insurance Open SOSD Logo Century Club
Every year the Century Club of San Diego hosts a charity for San Diego local schools and nonprofit organizations. If you are not aware of S.O.S.D. (Support Our San Diego), it is a program administered by the Century Club of San Diego and presented by SDG&E. It’s main purpose it to host the Farmers Insurance Open PGA TOUR Golf Tournament. It is through Century Club’s mission to support the community that we are given the opportunity to sell tickets to the Open at a reduced rate, and at the same time keep a portion of the proceeds. For every $35 ticket sold, the school receives $25. That’s more than a 70% kickback that will directly impact our students!

This golf tournament has been played every year since 1952, and consistently has one of the best player fields on the PGA TOUR. But this tournament is not just a golfing event. There will be many non-golfing activities, including live music at the end of the day, the Fan Village, and kid-friendly activities. Torrey Pines outdoor oceanfront scenery is beautiful and makes for a great day outdoors with friends and family.

These one-day tickets (valid for any day of the tournament) are sold at a steeply discounted price. Purchasing tickets through your sports team’s liaison, or directly at the Foundation Office will save you $15 per ticket compared to buying them from the Farmer’s Insurance Open website. Tickets can be purchased right up until January 27th. All forms of payment are accepted at the Foundation Office.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to support our students while having fun during one of San Diego’s premier events.
